Cardio

Cardio does not have to be a tedious chore! Cardiovascular health is very important, especially since heart disease is one of the leading killers in our society. Keeping your heart healthy only takes 30-45 mins a day 2-3 times a week! And the beautiful thing is there are millions of fun ways to get your heart rate up <3

One of the main ingredients to a good cardio session is having music that you love blasting in your ears! So if you don't have an ipod or mp3 player, it's time to get one! I love the ipod shuffle because it is tiny and clips onto my clothes. I accidentally washed it with my gym clothes once (with headphones and everything) and it still works LOL

List of fun cardio ideas updated monthly...Keep checking back for new ideas!

My favorite type of cardio is running stairs at a stadium...I take 2 at a time and run up at full speed and catch my breath while coming back down...rinse and repeat! Killer calorie burner and I even feel it in my obliques the next day ;)    A suitable substitute is the stair master if you don't have access to a stadium. Try not to do it on easy mode though!

Sprints are also great for achieving that firm, killer lower body! Try to exert all your energy and run like 10 angry dogs are about to devour you~

Soccer (or it's real name = football) is an amazing way to keep active with friends and shed that bodyfat. My brother is living testimony to that! He's shredded year round.

Another favorite of mine is hiking. Lots of hills is always a plus! Check out local parks or get adventurous and do a road trip/camping trip. Here's a pic of one of my fav parks with hiking trails.

Cycling is something I want to get into so badly, but then I go to the bike store and there are too many options! I get stuck on which bike to get . I will eventually though... Trust me~

 Yoga
I love yoga~ It has helped my flexibility over the years and you can burn some major calories at the same time.  I used to go to yoga classes when I lived in Miami, but now I don't have time for both the gym and yoga classes. Yoga dvds are very convenient because you can do them at home.

Cardio dvds are really fun and convenient if you are stuck somewhere without a gym or feeling too lazy to go. You just pop it into the dvd player and burn some calories. They don't cost much so you can replace them often when you get bored or need something harder. Amazon.com has them really cheap~
